Bryan Parno, who last year earned his PhD in electrical and computer engineering at Carnegie Mellon, won the 2010 ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award for his thesis, "Trust Extension as a Mechanism for Secure Code Execution on Commodity Computers.” Adrian Perrig was his thesis advisor and his committee included David Andersen and Virgil Gligor. Bryan now works in Microsoft Research’s Security and Privacy Group.
